Hosea Chapter 8

Summery

Chapter 8 of the Book of Hosea in the King James Version of the Bible contains a prophetic message to the people of Israel. In this chapter, God rebukes the Israelites for their disobedience and warns them of the consequences they will face.

The chapter begins with God expressing disappointment in Israel, accusing them of transgressing His covenant and acting wickedly. The Israelites have forsaken God and built altars for their own desires, turning away from the true worship of the Lord. They have also appointed kings and princes without consulting God, leading to their downfall.

As a consequence of their disobedience, God declares that He will reject their sacrifices and offerings, bringing judgment upon them. Their idols will be destroyed, and their cities will be laid waste. They will face exile and be scattered among the nations.

The chapter ends with God calling attention to the fact that the Israelites have multiplied their altars for sin and rebellion, but these altars will become a cause for their own sin. They will bear the consequences of their actions.
