1 Chronicles 11:35

Posted on 18 May at 11:30

Ahiham the sonne of Sacar the Hararite, Eliphal the sonne of Ur, 1 Chronicles 11:35 (KJV)

Context: Before diving into the verse, it’s important to understand the context of 1 Chronicles 11: This chapter records the exploits of David’s mighty men, who were renowned warriors and loyal followers of David.

Verse: Let’s read 1 Chronicles 11:35 (KJV): Ahiam the son of Sacar the Hararite, Eliphal the son of Ur

After him was Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighties.

In this verse, Eleazar is identified as the son of Dodo the Ahohite.

Eleazar is mentioned elsewhere in the Bible as one of David’s elite warriors (2 Samuel 23:9).

Although not as prominent as some of the other mighty men, Eleazar is still recognized as one of the three mighties, indicating his exceptional valor and skill in battle.

Faithfulness: Eleazar’s inclusion in the list of mighty men suggests that he displayed faithfulness and dedication to David.

Courage: Elezar’s position as one of the three mighties implies that he demonstrated extraordinary bravery in battle.

Humility: Although the Bible does not provide many details about Eleazar, his inclusion in the list of mighty men highlights the importance of humility.

Application to our lives: Faithfulness to God: As believers, we can learn from Eleazar’s faithfulness to David by remaining steadfast in our faith and loyalty to God.

Courage in spiritual battles: We face spiritual battles in our lives, and like Eleazar, we need courage to confront and overcome them.

Cultivating humility: Eleazar’s humility is a reminder that we should not seek personal recognition or exaltation.

Remember that the Bible is rich with wisdom and application, and while this study focuses on a specific verse, there are many other valuable lessons to be gleaned from the surrounding context and the entirety of Scripture.
