1 Chronicles 12:19
“And there fell some of Manasseh to David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle: but they helped them not: for the lords of the Philistines upon advisement sent him away, saying, He will fall to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our heads.”
Context:The book of 1 Chronicles is a historical account of the genealogies and events of the Israelites, particularly focusing on the reign of King David.
Chapter 12 recounts the mighty warriors who joined David when he was in exile from King Saul.
The warriors of Manasseh had the opportunity to engage in battle against Saul and support David, but the lords of the Philistines advised against it.
They feared that David would turn against them and side with Saul, thus endangering their own lives.
As a result, the warriors from Manasseh did not fight against Saul, despite being present on the battlefield.
