“Show thy marvelous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them.”

Certainly! Here is a Bible study on Psalm 17:7 (KJV):

Psalm 17:7 (KJV) says, “Show thy marvelous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them.”

1. Context: Psalm 17 is attributed to David and is a prayer for deliverance from enemies. David expresses his confidence in God’s righteousness and asks for protection from those who rise up against him.

2. Marvelous Lovingkindness: In this verse, David acknowledges and praises God’s marvelous lovingkindness. “Lovingkindness” refers to God’s faithful and steadfast love, which is characterized by mercy, compassion, and faithfulness. David recognizes the extraordinary nature of God’s love and emphasizes its marvel and wonder.

3. Salvation by God’s Right Hand: David acknowledges God as the source of salvation and deliverance. The phrase “thou that savest by thy right hand” symbolizes God’s power and authority. The right hand signifies strength and the ability to act on behalf of those who trust in Him. David recognizes that it is God who saves and delivers His people from their enemies.

4. Trust in God: David emphasizes the importance of trust in God. He states that those who put their trust in God are the ones who receive salvation and deliverance. Trusting in God implies reliance, confidence, and surrendering to His will. David’s trust in God is an expression of his faith and belief in God’s ability to protect and provide for him.

5. Protection from Enemies: David acknowledges that there are those who rise up against him. He seeks God’s intervention and protection from his adversaries. David understands that God is the ultimate defender and shield against those who would harm him. He finds assurance in God’s lovingkindness and salvation, knowing that God will act on behalf of those who trust in Him.

Application:

a. Recognizing God’s Lovingkindness: Like David, we should take time to acknowledge and appreciate God’s marvelous lovingkindness in our lives. His love is unwavering and faithful, and it is worthy of our praise and gratitude.

b. Trusting in God: Just as David put his trust in God, we are called to trust in Him in every aspect of our lives. When we face challenges, enemies, or difficult circumstances, we can find solace in knowing that God is our protector and deliverer. Our trust in Him enables us to rest in His care and guidance.

c. Seeking God’s Protection: When we encounter opposition or face enemies, we can turn to God for help and protection. We should bring our concerns before Him in prayer, asking for His intervention and relying on His strength to overcome the obstacles we face.

d. Reflecting God’s Lovingkindness: As recipients of God’s lovingkindness, we are also called to extend love and kindness to others. Just as God shows mercy and compassion towards us, we should exhibit those qualities in our relationships with others.
