Daniel 12:13

“But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.”

Daniel 12:13 (KJV) states: This verse concludes the prophecy recorded in the book of Daniel and provides a message of hope and assurance. To better understand this verse, it is helpful to consider the context in which it was written.

The book of Daniel contains visions and prophecies concerning the future, particularly regarding the rise and fall of kingdoms and the ultimate establishment of God’s kingdom. In chapter 12, Daniel receives further revelations about the time of the end, including the resurrection and the final judgment.

In the preceding verses, Daniel is given specific details about the duration of the events described in the vision. In verse 11, it mentions a period of time: “And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.” This verse refers to a time of great tribulation, which will last for a specified duration.

Then, in Daniel 12:12, it says: “Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.” This verse indicates that those who endure patiently until the end of the 1,335-day period will be blessed.

Finally, in Daniel 12:13, the angel instructs Daniel to go his way and wait until the end, for he will rest and stand in his allotted place at the end of days. This verse suggests that Daniel will experience rest or sleep, indicating his eventual death. However, it also affirms that Daniel’s faithfulness will be rewarded, as he will stand in his lot or receive his reward at the end of days, which refers to the final judgment and the establishment of God’s eternal kingdom.

Overall, Daniel 12:13 provides encouragement to Daniel and to believers throughout history. It assures us that even in the face of tribulation, we can trust in God’s faithfulness and look forward to our ultimate reward and a place in His eternal kingdom.

It is important to note that interpretations of this verse may vary slightly among different scholars and theological traditions. Therefore, it is always helpful to consider various perspectives and consult reliable biblical commentaries and study resources for a comprehensive understanding.
