Luke 9:55

“But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.”

This verse is part of a narrative in which Jesus and His disciples were traveling through Samaria on their way to Jerusalem. They encountered opposition from the Samaritans because the Samaritans did not receive Jesus, knowing that He was heading to Jerusalem.

The primacy of God’s will:Jesus’ response underscores His unwavering commitment to fulfilling the Father’s will. He acknowledges that their immediate desire for judgment on the Samaritans was not aligned with God’s purpose. Jesus consistently emphasized the importance of obedience to God’s will above personal desires or impulsive reactions.
