Listen to this article

And we haue sent with them our brother, whom wee haue often times proued diligent in many things, but now much more diligent, vpon the great confidence which I haue in you. 2 Corinthians 8:22 (KJV)

And it was Titus, that delivered the same, that also bore the same letters, which I sent by the hand of our brother, whom I have approved in the Gospel.

This verse appears in 2 Corinthians 8:23, a passage in which the apostle Paul discusses the collection of funds for the believers in Jerusalem.

In this verse, Paul mentions sending Titus, who has previously demonstrated reliability, to accompany the collection.

The importance of trust and confidence: Paul expresses confidence in Titus, noting that he has approved him for this task, which reflects the trust Paul places in reliable partners for the ministry.

Diligence in service: The reference to Titus being “approved in the Gospel” underscores his proven track record of faithful service.

Christian stewardship: The surrounding passage deals with the collection of funds, highlighting the significance of responsible stewardship within the Christian community.

The power of example: By commending Titus’s reliability, Paul sets an example for the Corinthian believers regarding the qualities valued in those handling communal resources.

Unity and partnership: Sending Titus alongside others demonstrates collaborative effort and unity among believers in supporting the church in Jerusalem.
