“And he said, It is not the voice of them that shout for mastery, neither is it the voice of them that cry for being overcome: but the noise of them that sing do I hear.”

However, Moses corrected him, saying that the noise was not the sound of victory or defeat in battle. Instead, Moses recognized it as the sound of singing.
Interpretation:The noise of singing was a manifestation of the people’s revelry and sinful behavior while they worshiped the golden calf. They were engaged in immoral acts and had turned away from the true God, breaking the very commandments that Moses had received from God just moments earlier.
