“Take ye from among you an offering unto the LORD: whosoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of the LORD; gold, and silver, and brass.”

- Generous Giving:This verse teaches us the importance of giving to the Lord with a cheerful and willing heart. As Christians, we are called to give not only of our material possessions but also our time, talents, and resources for the work of God and the benefit of others.
- Freewill Offerings:God delights in offerings made willingly, not begrudgingly. He desires that our giving is not motivated by obligation but by love for Him and a desire to be part of His work in the world.
- Our Heart Attitude:God looks beyond the external actions and examines our hearts. The attitude with which we give and serve matters to Him. A genuine and loving heart towards God will naturally express itself in acts of generosity and service.
- Valuing God’s Presence:The tabernacle was a place where God’s presence dwelt among His people. In a spiritual sense, we are now God’s dwelling place through the Holy Spirit. Just as the Israelites contributed to the tabernacle, we should continually seek to honour God in our lives, recognising His presence and seeking to bring Him glory.
In conclusion, Exodus 35:5 reminds us of the value of a willing heart and generous giving in our relationship with God. It encourages us to offer ourselves and our resources for the Lord’s work with joy and gratitude, recognising that everything we have comes from Him.
