Exodus Chapter 27

Summery

Exodus 27 (KJV) contains instructions from God to Moses regarding the construction of the altar and the courtyard for the tabernacle. It begins by specifying that the altar should be made of acacia wood, overlaid with bronze, and have a grate for the fire. The dimensions of the altar are given, and rings and poles are to be added for carrying it.

Next, the courtyard of the tabernacle is described. It is to be surrounded by a linen curtain, supported by pillars and hooks. The dimensions of the courtyard are also provided. Entrance to the courtyard is through a gate, which is to be made of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, along with fine woven linen.

Within the courtyard, there are to be various utensils and tools made of bronze, including hooks, bases, and pegs. The courtyard is meant to be a holy place, and the people are instructed to follow God’s commands in its construction and maintenance.
