Joshua Chapter 10

Summery

In Joshua 10, several Amorite kings gather together to fight against Gibeon because they had made a treaty with the Israelites. The Gibeonites send word to Joshua for help, and he leads his army to their aid. The Lord assures Joshua of victory, and they march all night to reach the enemy.

As the battle begins, the Lord throws the Amorite army into confusion, causing them to flee before the Israelites. As they retreat, a great hailstorm strikes the Amorites, killing more of them than the Israelites had slain with the sword. Joshua prays to God, and He prolongs the day, causing the sun and moon to stand still until the victory is complete.

Joshua and his army pursue the Amorite kings, capturing them and putting them to death. They conquer several cities and territories, fulfilling the Lord’s command. Afterward, Joshua returns to the camp at Gilgal.

This chapter showcases God’s faithfulness to the Israelites as He grants them victory over their enemies. The miraculous events, such as the hailstorm and the prolonged daylight, demonstrate God’s power and His willingness to fight on behalf of His people.
