1 John 1:3

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

The purpose of this letter:The book of 1 John is a letter written by the apostle John to a group of believers. The purpose of this letter is to strengthen their faith, address certain beliefs, to warn against false teachings, and to encourage love and obedience to Christ.

The Twelve Steps (Recovery):

  • 2. Admit that we are unable to control a certain thing.
  • 3. Acknowledge that a “Higher Power” can help us.
  • 4. Take personal inventory.
  • 5. Be honest with the “Higher Power” regarding a particular issue.
  • 6. Admit that “we are willing” and be open to receive help from “Higher Power”.
  • 7. Recognize that a “Higher Power” can fix any problem.
  • 8. Make amends for our errors.
  • 9. Continue with this recovery program.
  • 10. Keep track of our progress.
  • 11. Share our experiences with others.
  • 12. Accept what happens.

The Twelve Steps (Spiritual Journey):

  • 2. Admit that we have been living for ourselves.
  • 3. Acknowledge that a “Higher Power” can help us.
  • 4. Take inventory of our lives.
  • 5. Be honest with the “Higher Power” regarding our wrongdoings.
  • 6. Admit that we are “willing” to receive help from the “Higher Power”.
  • 7. Recognize that a “Higher Power” can resolve any difficulty.
  • 8. Accept that we can change.
  • 9. Continue with this path.
  • 10. Keep track of our growth.
  • 11. Share our experiences and learnings.
  • 12. Accept that we are not the center of everything.
  • 13. Acknowledge that we are not in control.

All of these steps are not mandatory. The most important thing is to believe in Jesus, or at least trust the universe and be aware of everything around you.
