2 Kings 18:6

Posted on 18 May at 11:40

“For he clave to the Lord, and departed not from following him, but kept his commandments, which the Lord commanded Moses.”

This verse is referring to Hezekiah, the king of Judah, who reigned in Jerusalem. Hezekiah is recognized as one of the righteous kings who remained faithful to God amidst a period of moral and spiritual decline in the kingdom of Judah.

Clave to the Lord:Hezekiah demonstrated a strong commitment to God. He held fast to his faith and remained devoted to the Lord.

Departed not from following him:Hezekiah’s loyalty to the Lord was unwavering. He did not turn away from God or abandon His commandments.

Kept his commandments:Hezekiah’s faithfulness was demonstrated through his obedience to God’s commandments. He sought to live in accordance with God’s instructions as given to Moses.

The example of Hezekiah serves as an inspiration for believers today. It encourages us to remain steadfast in our faith, to avoid compromise with worldly influences, and to diligently follow God’s commandments.

Additionally, this verse prompts us to reflect on our own commitment to the Lord. Are we clinging to Him wholeheartedly? Are we following Him faithfully, without wavering? Are we keeping His commandments?
