Amos 9 is the final chapter of the Book of Amos in the Old Testament. In this chapter, the prophet Amos delivers a message of judgment and restoration from God. The chapter begins with a vision of God standing beside the altar, commanding destruction upon the nation of Israel. No matter where they try to hide, God will find them and bring judgment upon them for their sins.
However, amidst the impending judgment, there is a glimmer of hope. God promises that He will not completely destroy the house of Jacob and will leave a remnant. The people of Israel, who were once scattered, will be gathered back together and restored.
God further declares that He will bring about a time of restoration and abundance for His people. The land will yield its fruits, and they will rebuild and inhabit the cities. The fortunes of Israel will be reversed, and they will live securely in the land that God has given them.
