So the king of Israel, and Iehoshaphat the king of Iudah, went vp to Ramoth Gilead. 2 Chronicles 18:28 (KJV)

In this passage, we find the account of a joint military campaign between Ahab, the king of Israel, and Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah. Ahab proposed attacking Ramoth-gilead, a city that had been under Syrian control. Jehoshaphat agreed to join forces with Ahab, and they went up together to Ramoth-gilead. “Now Ahab the king of Israel gathered all Israel and went up to Ramoth‑gilead; Jehoshaphat the king of Judah came with him.”

Ahab disguised himself, thinking he could escape God’s judgment, while Jehoshaphat wore his royal robes. As a result, Ahab was fatally wounded by an arrow and died, and Jehoshaphat narrowly escaped harm.
