The book of Nehemiah records the story of the Jewish people returning to Jerusalem after their exile in Babylon. As part of their commitment to God, the people of Israel renewed their covenant and made various promises to follow God’s laws and commandments.

Faithful Service is highlighted in Nehemiah 10:24, where we read that Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethaneel, Amasai, Zachariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, blew the trumpets before the ark of God, while Obededom and Jehiah served as doorkeepers for the ark. Their listing underscores the importance of each believer’s role in worship and service, showing that God values both the prominent and the seemingly modest contributions of His people.
