Nehemiah 10:26

And Ahiiah, Hanan, Anan, Nehemiah 10:26 (KJV)

Nehemiah 10 is part of the Old Testament and focuses on the commitment made by the Israelites after the walls of Jerusalem were rebuilt under Nehemiah’s leadership. In this chapter, the people of Israel make a covenant with God, pledging to live according to His commandments and laws. However, verse 26 seems to be an incomplete verse in the King James Version of the Bible. It only mentions the names “Ahiah, Hanan, Anan” without providing any context or complete thought, and the KJV seems to have a typographical error or missing content. Nehemiah 10:26 lists the names of priests, including Ahiah, Hanan, Anan, Malchijah, Harim, Meremoth, Obadiah, Daniel, Ginnethon, Abia, Mijamin, Maadiah, Bilgai, and Shemaiah, followed by the statement “and these were the priests.” This chapter describes the names of those who sealed the covenant, confirming their commitment to follow God’s laws, including priests, Levites, leaders, and the people in general. These individuals made an agreement to uphold specific responsibilities and refrain from practices contrary to God’s commands. Although the exact content of verse 26 in the KJV is incomplete, the surrounding verses emphasize the importance of obedience and commitment to God. The people of Israel were taking a solemn vow to adhere to the Law of Moses and live in accordance with God’s instructions. The overarching theme of Nehemiah 10 underscores the Israelites’ desire to reestablish their covenant with God and align themselves with His instructions. To gain a more comprehensive understanding of Nehemiah and its teachings, it is recommended to consult other Bible versions or use additional study resources to cross‑reference the verse in question.
