Job 11:9

The measure therof is longer then the earth, and broader then the sea. Job 11:9 (KJV)

The measure thereof

is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea. Job 11:9 (KJV)

For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. This truth reminds us that the light which God commanded to burst forth from darkness is not merely a physical phenomenon but a spiritual illumination that enters the believer’s heart. As a result, we are called to perceive that there is no darkness, but the light shall shine out of darkness. Likewise, we are invited to understand that there is no darkness, and the light shall shine out of darkness. Both perception and understanding point to the same reality: the divine light dispels all darkness and reveals the glory of God through Christ. The passage therefore encourages believers to recognize that the measure of God’s wisdom and power, as described in Job, exceeds the earth and the sea, and that the light He commands is far greater than any earthly darkness. In our daily walk, we can experience this light when we open our hearts to the knowledge of God’s glory, allowing the illumination of Christ to guide us. The study of these verses calls us to a deeper awareness that the darkness has been overcome, and that the everlasting light continues to shine, inviting us into the fullness of God’s presence. The light that God commanded to shine out of darkness is the same light that dispels all darkness and reveals His glory. In this way, the illumination of Christ becomes the measure by which we gauge the vastness of God’s wisdom, which surpasses the earth and the sea.
