Listen to this article

“Even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.”

This verse is found in the book of Isaiah, specifically in chapter 46. Isaiah was a prophet who spoke on behalf of God to the people of Israel during a time of great political and spiritual turmoil. The book of Isaiah contains messages of both judgment and hope, and it emphasizes God’s sovereignty and faithfulness.

Isaiah 46:4 is a beautiful verse that highlights God’s care and faithfulness towards His people, even in their old age. Let’s break it down and explore its meaning further:

“Even to your old age I am he”: This phrase emphasizes the enduring presence and faithfulness of God throughout the entire lifespan of His people. God is not limited by time or age; He remains constant and unchanging. From the beginning of our lives until our old age, God is with us.

“Even to hoar hairs will I carry you”: “Hoar hairs” refers to gray hairs, which are often associated with old age. This phrase depicts God’s willingness to support and carry His people throughout their entire lives, even when they reach old age and face various challenges. It symbolizes God’s care and provision for His people, regardless of their physical condition or circumstances.

“I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you”: This statement reinforces the divine nature and sovereignty of God. He declares that He is the creator and sustainer of His people. God takes responsibility for His creation and assures His people that He will carry them and deliver them from all troubles and difficulties they may encounter.

In summary, Isaiah 46:4 provides a comforting message of God’s unwavering presence, care, and faithfulness throughout the entire span of our lives. It reminds us that we are never alone, and that God is committed to carrying us and delivering us from any challenges we face, even in our old age. This verse encourages us to trust in God’s faithfulness and rely on His strength and provision at all times.
