Daniel 1:19

“And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king.”

1. Context: Daniel 1 tells the story of how Daniel and his three friends-Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah-were taken captive from Judah to Babylon during the reign of King Nebuchadnezzar. They were chosen to serve in the king’s palace and were given a daily portion of the king’s meat and wine. However, Daniel purposed in his heart not to defile himself with the king’s delicacies.

3. God’s Favor: In verse 17, it is mentioned that God gave Daniel and his friends knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom. They stood out among all the captives, and when the king examined them, none were found to be as excellent as these four young men.
