Luke 2:48

It is important to note that Mary’s reference to Joseph as Jesus’ father was likely not an indication of her denying Jesus’ divine origin, but rather a common way of referring to Joseph as Jesus’ earthly father.

Luke 2:49 contains Jesus’ response to His parents’ concern: “And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?” Jesus acknowledges that His mission, even at a young age, was aligned with the will of His heavenly Father.

This incident highlights Jesus’ unique relationship with God, His heavenly Father. While Mary and Joseph may not have fully understood the significance of Jesus’ words at that time, it foreshadows Jesus’ future ministry and His identification with the Father’s work.
