Listen to this article

“Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.”

Context:This verse is part of the vision described in the Book of Revelation, which is the last book of the Bible. The book contains a series of visions and symbols that reveal the end times and the ultimate triumph of God over evil.

In this particular passage, the scene is set in heaven, and the focus is on a great multitude of people praising and worshiping God.

Revelation 7:12 Breakdown:Let’s break down Revelation 7:12 and explore its significance:

“Saying, Amen”: The word “Amen” is an affirmation of agreement or consent. In this context, it signifies the collective agreement and consent of the multitude as they join together in worship.

“Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might”: These words represent attributes and qualities ascribed to God. They highlight the greatness, majesty, and authority of God. The multitude acknowledges and praises God for these qualities. The use of multiple terms emphasizes the comprehensive and all‑encompassing nature of God’s glory and attributes.

“Be unto our God for ever and ever”: This phrase expresses the eternal nature of the worship and praise offered to God. It indicates that the honor and glory bestowed upon God are perpetual and unending. It reflects the everlasting nature of God’s dominion and reign.

“Amen”: The repetition of “Amen” at the end reaffirms the agreement and consent of the multitude and serves as a final affirmation of the truth and certainty of the praise offered to God.

Overall, Revelation 7:12 emphasizes the worship and exaltation of God by a multitude of believers in heaven. It highlights the eternal nature of God’s attributes and the continuous praise offered to Him. This verse reminds believers of the importance of acknowledging and honoring God for His wisdom, power, glory, and might, and it encourages them to participate in worship and adoration of God both now and in eternity.

It’s important to note that the Book of Revelation contains highly symbolic and metaphorical language, and its interpretation can vary among different theological perspectives. Therefore, it is often recommended to seek guidance from trusted religious leaders or study resources when delving into the complexities of Revelation.
