Revelation 19:13

Listen to this article

“And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.”

Revelation 19:13: is part of a vision that the apostle John had while exiled on the island of Patmos. In this chapter, John sees a vision of the triumphant return of Jesus Christ, who is depicted as a conquering warrior riding a white horse.

In this particular verse, we are given a description of Jesus Christ. It says that he was “clothed with a vesture dipped in blood.” This imagery emphasizes Jesus’ victory over his enemies. The “vesture” refers to a robe or garment, and the mention of blood signifies the defeat of his adversaries. It is a symbol of judgment and the righteous justice of God. This description portrays Jesus as a victorious warrior, executing judgment and conquering his enemies.

The verse also states that his name is called “The Word of God.” This title highlights the divine nature and authority of Jesus. In the Gospel of John, we find a similar description of Jesus as the Word: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1, KJV). The Word of God is a powerful expression used to describe Jesus Christ, who is the embodiment of God’s message, wisdom, and revelation to humanity. Through Jesus, God speaks to us and reveals His plan of salvation.

This verse underscores the sovereignty of Jesus Christ and his role as the ultimate judge and ruler. It signifies the fulfillment of God’s promises and the final triumph of righteousness over evil. It serves as a reminder to believers of the ultimate victory that awaits them in Christ and the assurance that God’s justice will prevail.

Overall, Revelation 19:13 presents a powerful image of Jesus as the victorious warrior, clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and identified as the Word of God. It conveys the message of Jesus’ ultimate triumph and the fulfillment of God’s redemptive plan for humanity.
