And of cassia five hundred shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, and of oil olive an hin:

Context

This verse continues God’s instructions to Moses for making the sacred anointing oil used in the tabernacle. The full recipe appears in Exodus 30:22-25. God commanded specific amounts of choice spices and olive oil, and this verse names two of them: cassia and olive oil.

Cassia was a fragrant spice taken from the bark of a tree. It was measured at five hundred shekels, using the standard weight kept in the sanctuary. This “shekel of the sanctuary” guaranteed exactness and sacred precision. The olive oil was one hin, about 6.1 liters or 1.6 gallons. These precise measurements show that worship of God is not casual but ordered and holy.

The sanctuary shekel points to a standard of holiness. God’s service requires conformity to His revealed pattern, not human preference.
