Exodus Chapter 14

Summery

In Exodus 14, the Israelites find themselves trapped between the Red Sea and the pursuing Egyptian army. As they witness the approaching enemy, fear fills their hearts. But Moses, led by God, assures the people that they need not be afraid and to stand firm, for the Lord will fight for them. God then instructs Moses to stretch out his hand over the sea, and the waters part, forming a dry path through the midst of the sea. With the pillar of cloud and fire protecting them, the Israelites cross over to safety.

Meanwhile, the Egyptians, driven by their determination, enter the divided sea in pursuit. But as morning arrives, God looks down upon the Egyptian army from the pillar of fire and throws them into a panic, causing their chariot wheels to swerve. Realizing the divine intervention, the Egyptians attempt to flee, but it’s too late. Moses, at God’s command, stretches out his hand once again, and the sea returns to its place, overwhelming the entire army. Not a single Egyptian survives.

Witnessing this incredible display of God’s power, the Israelites are filled with awe and put their trust in the Lord and His servant Moses. They recognize the might and faithfulness of God, who delivered them from slavery and protected them from their enemies.
