Ezekiel 30:1

Posted on 18 May at 14:11
Listen to this article

“The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying.”

Context:The book of Ezekiel is a prophetic book written by the prophet Ezekiel during the Babylonian exile of Israel. The book contains visions, prophecies, and messages from God to the people of Israel.

“The word of the LORD”: Ezekiel emphasizes that his message is not his own but comes directly from the Lord. This phrase highlights the authority and divine origin of the message that follows.

“The word of the LORD came again unto me”: This phrase indicates that Ezekiel had previously received a message from God and is now receiving another one. Throughout the book, Ezekiel receives multiple visions and messages from God to convey to the Israelites.

Key Points:

Divine communication:The fact that God speaks to Ezekiel demonstrates the intimate relationship between God and His chosen prophets. God desires to communicate His will and purposes to His people.

God’s initiative:It is essential to note that God takes the initiative to speak to Ezekiel. This shows God’s active involvement in guiding and directing His people. It also underscores the importance of listening and being attentive to God’s voice.

Obedience:When God speaks, it is crucial to listen and obey. Ezekiel’s role as a prophet is to faithfully deliver God’s message to the people of Israel, regardless of their response. This passage highlights the responsibility and accountability of God’s messengers.

Application:

Hearing God’s voice:As believers, we should seek to cultivate a relationship with God and be attentive to His voice. God speaks to us through His Word, prayer, the Holy Spirit, and sometimes through other people. We can develop our ability to recognize His voice by spending time in prayer and studying the Scriptures.

Obedience to God’s commands:Just as Ezekiel was called to faithfully deliver God’s message, we are called to obey God’s commands and follow His guidance in our lives. Obedience requires trust and surrender to God’s will, even when it may be challenging or unpopular.

God’s sovereignty:The fact that God actively communicates with His people demonstrates His sovereignty and care for us. Even in difficult times, we can trust that God is involved in our lives and desires to guide us according to His perfect plan.

Remember, studying the Bible involves exploring the context, understanding key points, and applying the principles to our lives. May this Bible study help you gain insights into Ezekiel 30:1 and encourage you in your spiritual journey.
