Listen to this article

And by the border of Zebulun from the East side vnto the West side, Gad a portion: Ezekiel 48:27 (KJV)

And by the border of Benjamin, from the east side unto the west side, Simeon shall have a portion.

Context: The book of Ezekiel is part of the Old Testament and contains the prophecies of the prophet Ezekiel during the Babylonian exile.

In this particular chapter, Ezekiel describes the division of the land among the twelve tribes of Israel in the future restoration of the nation.

Analysis: The border of Benjamin:Benjamin was one of the twelve tribes of Israel and was allocated land within the promised inheritance.

In the distribution of land described in this chapter, Benjamin’s territory is mentioned specifically.

The border of Benjamin would extend from the east side to the west side.

Simeon’s portion: The verse states that Simeon shall have a portion by the border of Benjamin (cf. Joshua 19:1-9).

Simeon was also one of the twelve tribes of Israel, descended from Simeon, the second son of Jacob and Leah.

Symbolic significance: The division of land described in Ezekiel’s prophecy speaks of the future restoration of Israel.

This division serves as a promise and hope for the people of Israel during their time of exile.

It demonstrates God’s faithfulness to fulfil His covenant and restore the land to His chosen people.

Spiritual application: While the primary significance of this verse relates to the physical division of land among the tribes of Israel, we can also find spiritual lessons within it.

It reminds us of God’s faithfulness to fulfil His promises.

Just as God had a specific portion for each tribe, He has a unique plan and purpose for each one of us.

We can trust that God’s plans for us are good and that He will provide for our needs.

In conclusion, Ezekiel 48:27 describes the allocation of land to the tribes of Israel in the future restoration of the nation.

It serves as a reminder of God’s faithfulness and the fulfilment of His promises.
