“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.”

John 1:12 (KJV):This verse is found in the Gospel of John, which is the fourth book of the New Testament. It is a powerful and significant verse that speaks about the privilege and blessing of receiving Jesus Christ and the profound transformation that takes place in the lives of those who believe in Him.

Receiving Jesus:The verse begins with the phrase “But as many as received him.” It implies that there is a personal choice involved in accepting Jesus into one’s life. It is an invitation to open our hearts and welcome Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Receiving Jesus is not merely acknowledging His existence but also accepting His lordship over our lives.

Power to become sons of God:The verse continues by saying that to those who received Jesus, He gave them the power to become the sons of God. This statement emphasizes the new identity and relationship that believers receive through faith in Christ. It is a divine privilege to become children of God, part of His family, and to enjoy all the rights and benefits that come with it.

Believing in His name:The verse concludes by stating that this power to become the sons of God is given to those who believe in His name. Belief in Jesus Christ is at the core of our relationship with Him. Trusting in His person, work, and sacrificial death on the cross is essential for salvation. It is through faith in Jesus that we are justified and receive the gift of eternal life.
