Philippians 1:19
For I know that this shall turne to my saluation through your prayer, and the supplie of the spirit of Iesus Christ, Philippians 1:19 (KJV)
The epistle to the Philippians was penned by the apostle Paul while he was under Roman imprisonment. He addressed the letter to the believers in Philippi, a thriving city in Macedonia, to encourage them and to share his circumstances.

The planned visit was meant to provide the Philippians with tangible support and encouragement.
Paul also expresses a longing to be “of good comfort” when he learns of the Philippians’ condition. He desires to hear that they are standing firm in the faith, persevering through challenges, and growing spiritually. Such news would bring him great joy and encouragement while he remains in chains.
From this passage several practical lessons emerge. First, believers are called to place their trust in the Lord, knowing that God works through the prayers of His people and the power of the Holy Spirit. Second, the body of Christ is meant to support one another; sending a trusted brother like Timothy illustrates the importance of mutual encouragement. Third, caring for the spiritual well‑being of fellow believers—inquiring about their state, offering assistance, and praying for them—is a vital expression of Christian love.
Overall, Philippians 1:19 highlights confidence in God’s providential care through prayer and the Spirit, while the broader letter reminds the church of the value of trust, support, and compassionate concern for one another.
