Philippians 3:12
Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Iesus. Philippians 3:12 (KJV)
Here the apostle Paul writes to the Philippians, sharing his personal perspective on his spiritual journey and his pursuit of Christlikeness. He begins with a humble acknowledgment of imperfection, stating that he has not yet achieved spiritual perfection or reached the ultimate goal of his faith. Likewise, every believer is called by Christ for a purpose, and our own pursuit of spiritual growth is rooted in our response to that call.
Throughout the passage Paul stresses God’s enabling grace. He makes clear that his ability to pursue and attain the goal does not rest on his own effort but on the grace of Christ that empowers him. He relies on God’s strength, guidance, and transformative power as he strives to live out his faith.

We are called to acknowledge our imperfections, pursue Christlikeness with perseverance, recognize our divine purpose, and depend on God’s enabling grace.
