Listen to this article

Who so robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, it is no transgression, the same is the companion of a destroyer. Proverbs 28:24 (KJV)

Respect for Parents: The verse begins by highlighting the seriousness of robbing one’s father or mother. In the biblical context, honoring and respecting one’s parents is of great importance. The act of stealing from them is not only a violation of their rights but also a betrayal of the family relationship and the trust placed in the child.

Denial of Transgression: The statement goes on to mention the attitude of the person who commits this act. They say, “It is no transgression.” This suggests that the individual attempts to justify their actions, denying the gravity of their sin. It reflects a disregard for the moral and ethical standards set by God and society.

Companion of a Destroyer: The verse concludes by stating that the one who steals from their parents and denies the wrongdoing becomes a companion of a destroyer. This implies that such a person aligns themselves with those who bring about ruin or destruction. They embrace a path that leads to moral decay, separation from godly values, and potentially harmful consequences for themselves and others.

The same is companion to a destroyer.

The statement emphasizes the seriousness of robbing one’s father or mother, underscoring the biblical call to honor and respect parents.

The Companion of a Destroyer: The verse concludes by stating that the one who steals from their parents and denies the wrongdoing becomes companion to a destroyer.

They claim, “It is no transgression,” attempting to minimize the offense.

Such denial aligns the sinner with destructive influences and ruin.
