Revelation 15:2

Listen to this article

“And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.”

Revelation is the last book of the New Testament and is known for its apocalyptic and symbolic language. It was written by the apostle John while he was exiled on the island of Patmos. The book provides a vision of future events, including the end times and the ultimate triumph of God over evil.

In Revelation 15:2, John sees a vision of a sea of glass mingled with fire. This imagery represents a heavenly scene, symbolizing purity and the divine presence of God. The sea of glass could be seen as a symbol of calmness, peace, and stability, while the fire represents the purifying presence and judgment of God.

The verse also mentions a specific group of people who are standing on the sea of glass. These individuals are described as those who have “gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name.” Here, the “beast” refers to the Antichrist, a figure associated with evil and rebellion against God. The “image” and the “mark” are likely references to the worship and allegiance demanded by the Antichrist during the end times. The “number of his name” could refer to the infamous “mark of the beast” mentioned elsewhere in Revelation (Revelation 13:16-18).

The fact that these individuals have “gotten the victory” over these evil forces suggests that they have remained faithful to God and have resisted the temptation to align themselves with the Antichrist or participate in his worship. They have overcome the pressures and temptations of the world, remaining loyal to God and His truth.

Furthermore, the victorious ones are described as having harps of God. Harps are often associated with praise and worship in the Bible, and they symbolize joy and celebration. This imagery suggests that those who have remained faithful to God, even in the midst of great tribulation, will experience the ultimate joy and victory in His presence.

Overall, Revelation 15:2 highlights the ultimate triumph of God’s faithful people over the forces of evil. It emphasizes the importance of remaining faithful to God, even in challenging times, and the promise of joy and victory in His presence. It serves as a reminder of the ultimate hope and reward that await those who persevere in their faith.
