In Song of Solomon 5, the Shulamite woman describes a vivid dream where her beloved comes knocking at her door, desiring entrance. However, she hesitates to open the door due to her being already in bed and having taken off her robe. By the time she decides to open the door, her beloved is gone. Distressed by his absence, she searches the city for him but is met with opposition and affliction from the watchmen. Despite the difficulties, she persistently asks those she encounters to help her find her beloved, describing him in great detail. Finally, she finds her beloved and clings to him, refusing to let him go.
