Zechariah 1:9

Posted on 18 May at 14:52
Listen to this article

“Then said I, O my lord, what are these? And the angel that talked with me said unto me, I will shew thee what these be.”

Zechariah was a prophet who received a series of visions from the Lord. In this particular verse, he sees a vision and is puzzled by what he sees. He asks the angel who was speaking with him about the meaning of what he witnessed.

The verse highlights Zechariah’s humility and desire to understand the mysteries revealed to him. It demonstrates his willingness to seek guidance and his recognition that he cannot comprehend everything without divine assistance.

This verse also emphasizes the role of the angel as a messenger and revealer of divine mysteries. The angel assures Zechariah that he will explain the meaning behind the visions he has seen, indicating that God’s messengers are sent to provide understanding and insight to those who seek it.

As we continue reading the subsequent verses in Zechariah 1, we find that the angel proceeds to explain the vision to Zechariah, revealing significant messages and prophecies. This passage serves as a reminder that God desires to reveal His plans and purposes to His people and that seeking understanding from Him is essential.

Overall, Zechariah 1:9 teaches us the importance of seeking divine guidance and understanding when faced with spiritual mysteries. It encourages us to approach God with humility, acknowledging our limited understanding, and relying on Him to provide insight and wisdom.
