Chronicles 9:11 is found within a genealogical record in the book of Chronicles, which traces the lineage of the priests and Levites who served in the temple. This particular verse introduces Azariah, who was the ruler of the house of God.

The Name Azariah:Azariah means “Yahweh has helped” or “Yahweh has protected.” In the Hebrew culture, names often carried significant meaning and reflected the character or destiny of the individual.

Lineage:The verse traces Azariah’s lineage, highlighting his ancestry going back several generations. This lineage emphasizes the importance of heritage and ancestral connections within the context of the priesthood.

The temple was the central place of worship for the Israelites, and the priests and Levites played crucial roles in facilitating the spiritual life of the people. Azariah’s position underscores the significance of proper governance and the administration of sacred duties.
