Then sat Solomon upon the throne of David his father; and his kingdom was established greatly.

Reflection

Solomon’s throne was a gift of God’s grace, not a reward for his own merit. In the same way, every position of influence we hold is entrusted to us by God. We are called to use it for His glory and for the good of others.

The stability of Solomon’s kingdom points to a greater kingdom that God would establish through David’s line. Jesus Christ, the Son of David, now sits on an eternal throne. His kingdom will never end, and He rules with perfect wisdom and justice.
