And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith:

Context

The Apostle Paul wrote this letter to the church in Thessalonica, a city in Macedonia, during his second missionary journey. The believers there faced persecution and doubts about their faith. Paul, unable to visit them himself, sent Timothy to strengthen and encourage them.

Paul describes Timothy as “our brother,” “minister of God,” and “fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ.” These titles emphasize Timothy’s spiritual bond with Paul, his service to God, and his active partnership in spreading the gospel. Paul sent Timothy for two purposes: to establish the Thessalonians and to comfort them concerning their faith.
