Listen to this article

“So Solomon, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place that was at Gibeon; for there was the tabernacle of the congregation of God, which Moses the servant of the Lord had made in the wilderness.”

Certainly! Here’s a Bible study on 2 Chronicles 1:3 in the King James Version:

The Book of 2 Chronicles is a historical account that focuses on the reign of various kings in Israel, particularly the Davidic dynasty. In this verse, Solomon, the son of David and the newly anointed king, is portrayed as seeking God’s guidance and presence.

  • Context:To understand the significance of this verse, it’s essential to consider the context.
  • Solomon’s journey:The verse describes Solomon and the congregation going to the high place in Gibeon. This high place was an elevated location, likely a hill or a mountaintop, where worship and sacrifices were offered to God.
  • The tabernacle:The tabernacle mentioned in this verse was originally built by Moses in the wilderness as a temporary sanctuary for the Israelites during their journey from Egypt to the Promised Land.
  • Spiritual significance:Solomon’s decision to go to the tabernacle at Gibeon demonstrates his desire to seek God’s guidance and wisdom.

Application:As Christians, we can learn from Solomon’s example in this verse. It reminds us of the importance of seeking God’s presence and guidance in our lives.
