2 Samuel 7:27

For thou, O Lord of hostes, God of Israel, hast reuealed to thy seruant, saying, I will build thee an house: therfore hath thy seruant found in his heart to pray this prayer vnto thee. 2 Samuel 7:27 (KJV)

“And thou, O LORD, art the God that shew’st wonders: Him that delivereth my soul also from all the trouble.”

Context: 2 Samuel 7 is a significant chapter in the Bible where God makes a covenant with David, promising to establish his dynasty and build him a house (a lineage) that will endure forever. This chapter follows David’s desire to build a house (a temple) for God and the prophet Nathan’s initial approval. However, God speaks to Nathan and reveals that it is not David’s task to build the temple but that David’s son will fulfill this role. David responds with gratitude and a prayer.

Gratitude for God’s Revelation: In verse 27, David acknowledges God as the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, and praises Him as the One who performs wondrous deeds and delivers his soul from trouble.
