2 Thessalonians Chapter 1

Summery

2 Thessalonians 1 is a letter written by the apostle Paul to the church in Thessalonica. In this chapter, Paul begins by expressing his gratitude to God for the faith and perseverance of the Thessalonian believers in the midst of their afflictions and persecutions. He commends them for their increasing love for one another and their enduring faith.

Paul then assures the Thessalonians that God is just and will repay those who trouble them with affliction. He tells them that when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, He will bring both judgment and relief to those who are troubled. Those who have rejected the gospel and persecuted the believers will face eternal punishment, while the faithful will receive eternal glory and honor.

The chapter concludes with Paul's prayer for the Thessalonians, asking that God would count them worthy of His calling and fulfill all their good desires and works of faith. He prays that the name of the Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in them and they in Him, according to the grace of God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
