2 Kings 12 (KJV) Summary:
In 2 Kings 12, Joash becomes king of Judah at the age of seven and reigns for 40 years in Jerusalem. Initially, he does what is right in the eyes of the Lord under the guidance of Jehoiada the priest. However, the high places dedicated to idol worship are not taken down, and the people continue to offer sacrifices there.
Joash orders the priests to collect money from the people in order to repair the house of the Lord, which had fallen into disrepair. However, the priests do not carry out the repairs as instructed, and the temple remains neglected. Eventually, Joash decides to take matters into his own hands and gathers the funds directly from the people.
With the collected money, Joash hires skilled craftsmen to restore the temple, ensuring that it is repaired and reinforced. The priests are also instructed not to use the funds for personal purposes. The repairs are completed, and the temple is restored to its former glory.
