Isaiah 45 is a chapter in the book of Isaiah in the King James Version of the Bible. It contains a prophetic message from God to Cyrus, the Persian king, regarding his role in delivering the Israelites from captivity in Babylon.
The chapter begins with God proclaiming His authority over Cyrus and declaring that He has called him by name and will empower him to subdue nations. God assures Cyrus that He will go before him, leveling mountains and opening doors of bronze, so that he may succeed in his mission. God also reveals His sovereignty as the Creator of the heavens and the earth, emphasizing that there is no other God beside Him.
In the following verses, God challenges the idols and false gods worshipped by the nations, emphasizing their powerlessness and contrasting them with His own authority. He declares that He is the only Savior and that every knee shall bow to Him.
The chapter concludes with a call for the nations to come to God, recognizing His righteousness and salvation. Those who reject Him will face judgment and shame, while those who turn to Him will find their righteousness and strength.
