1 Chronicles 28:21

Posted on 18 May at 11:32

“And, behold, the courses of the priests and the Levites, even they shall be with thee for all the service of the house of God: and there shall be with thee for all manner of workmanship every willing skilful man, for any manner of service: also the princes and all the people will be wholly at thy commandment.”

Divine Service:The verse highlights that the courses of the priests and the Levites would be with Solomon for all the service of the house of God. The Levites were responsible for various tasks related to the worship and maintenance of the temple. This verse emphasizes the importance of the Levitical priesthood in carrying out the duties associated with the service of God.

Skilled Workers:Additionally, the verse mentions that every willing and skillful person would be available to Solomon for any kind of workmanship required for the temple. This signifies the need for skilled artisans and craftsmen to contribute their talents to the construction of the temple. It reveals the importance of both spiritual and practical abilities in serving God.

Unity and Obedience:The verse further states that the princes and all the people would be wholly at Solomon’s commandment. This implies that the king had authority over the people and they were expected to follow his instructions. It underscores the importance of unity and obedience within the community in accomplishing God’s work. This verse highlights the collaborative effort required for the construction and operation of the temple. It emphasizes the involvement of both the spiritual leaders and the skilled workers, as well as the need for unity and obedience among the people.

By examining this verse within the broader context of the chapter and book, we can see the significance of these elements in the establishment and functioning of the temple as a central place of worship for the Israelites.
