Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.

“Treasures of wickedness” means wealth or possessions gained through dishonest, immoral, or unethical means. Ill-gotten wealth often leads to spiritual and moral emptiness, leaving a person poor in what matters most.

In contrast, “righteousness” means living according to God’s moral standards. The verse says that righteousness “delivereth from death.” This deliverance includes preservation from premature or untimely death, and in a deeper spiritual sense, deliverance from eternal death.
