Isaiah 65:24

And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

Isaiah 65:24 (KJV)

The book of Isaiah contains prophecies and messages given by God through the prophet Isaiah, primarily addressing the nation of Israel. In the preceding verses, Isaiah speaks of a time when God will create new heavens and a new earth, where His people will rejoice and delight in Him. This promise of immediate answer to prayer is part of that blessed restoration, contrasting the fate of the rebellious with the blessings promised to the faithful.

God’s responsiveness is emphasized: He is not only listening but also preemptively answering His people’s prayers. His knowledge is so deep that He knows their needs even before they express them. This reveals God’s omniscience, meaning He possesses all knowledge and understanding, and His omnipresence, indicating He is always present and attentive to His people’s concerns. The verse assures believers that God is not distant or unconcerned but actively involved in their lives, ready to answer and provide for their needs. It demonstrates His unfailing love and willingness to respond to their prayers.

As believers, we can find solace and confidence in the fact that God hears our prayers and knows our needs. This verse encourages us to approach God with trust and faith, knowing that He will answer even before we ask. It also encourages us to maintain open communication with God, speaking to Him about our concerns, joys, and desires. Because this promise is for those who serve and follow God, it calls us to live faithfully, knowing that God is attentive to our prayers and will answer them in His perfect timing. Our response should be thankful dependence on God, who is always ready to hear and answer His children.
