Let vs bee glad and reioyce, and giue honour to him: for the mariage of the Lambe is come, and his wife hath made herselfe readie. Revelation 19:7 (KJV)

The book of Revelation is a highly symbolic and prophetic work that unveils future events, including the end times, the second coming of Jesus Christ, and the establishment of God’s kingdom on earth. Chapter 19 concentrates on the triumphant return of Christ, the defeat of the Antichrist and the false prophet, and the consummation of God’s redemptive plan.

The verse opens with an invitation to rejoice and be glad, underscoring the joyous nature of what follows. The marriage of the Lamb symbolizes the union between Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, and his bride—the Church, the redeemed people of God—who are prepared for His return.

Throughout the New Testament, Jesus is repeatedly called the Lamb of God. This imagery draws from the Old‑Testament sacrificial system, where lambs served as sin offerings. As the perfect and spotless Lamb, Christ offered Himself as the ultimate sacrifice for humanity’s sins, fulfilling the deepest requirements of divine justice.

In this passage the wife—or bride—of the Lamb refers to the Church, the body of believers who have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior. Scripture often describes the Church as the bride of Christ, highlighting an intimate, covenantal relationship between the Savior and His people.

The text notes that the wife has made herself ready for the marriage of the Lamb. This emphasizes the necessity for believers to be spiritually prepared, living in accordance with God’s will, faithfully following Christ’s teachings, and pursuing holiness. Readiness reflects a heart aligned with divine purpose.

Finally, the verse urges believers to give honor to God. This call cultivates an attitude of reverence and worship, acknowledging God’s sovereignty, faithfulness, and the fulfillment of His promises as the Lamb’s marriage approaches.
