Acts 1:11
Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Context
Acts 1:11 is part of the account of Jesus’ ascension into heaven. After His resurrection, Jesus appeared to His disciples multiple times, providing them with further teaching and instruction. On the Mount of Olives, just before His ascension, Jesus told His disciples that they would receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon them, and they would be His witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8). The angels addressed the disciples as “Ye men of Galilee,” highlighting their humble origins and their connection to Jesus’ earthly ministry, which had centered around Galilee. The question “why stand ye gazing up into heaven?” gently rebukes the disciples’ passive staring, redirecting their focus from awe to action. The angels then give the promise: “this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.” The phrase “this same Jesus” emphasizes personal continuity—the one who ascended is the one who will return. His coming will be visible, personal, and glorious, just as His departure was.
