Acts 4:1

“And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them,”

Significance of opposition:The opposition faced by the apostles in Acts 4:1 highlights the contrast between the religious leaders’ rejection of Jesus and the response of the people who believed. The religious authorities were threatened by the popularity and influence of the apostles, particularly the fact that many people were turning to faith in Jesus. This conflict sets the stage for the ongoing struggle between the early Christian movement and the religious establishment.

Lessons for believers:Acts 4:1 reminds us that speaking boldly for Christ and proclaiming the Gospel may lead to opposition and persecution. However, it also shows the importance of staying faithful to God’s calling despite the challenges. The apostles did not shy away from their mission but continued to testify to the truth even in the face of adversity.
