Acts Chapter 12

Summery

Acts 12 of the Book of Acts in the King James Version (KJV) tells the story of the persecution faced by the early Christians and God's miraculous intervention to deliver the apostle Peter. Here's a summary of Acts 12 in 200 words:

King Herod Agrippa I, seeking to please the Jewish leaders, began to persecute the followers of Jesus. He executed James, the brother of John, and arrested Peter with the intention of executing him as well. Peter was put in prison under heavy guard, but the church fervently prayed for his safety.

While Peter was sleeping in prison, an angel of the Lord appeared, struck him on the side, and led him out of the cell. Peter initially thought it was a vision but soon realized he was being rescued by God. The angel guided him past the guards and through locked gates, and Peter found himself free.

After his miraculous escape, Peter went to the house of Mary, the mother of John Mark, where many believers were gathered and praying for him. When a servant girl named Rhoda recognized Peter's voice at the door, she was so overjoyed that she left him outside and ran to tell the others. However, they had a hard time believing her, thinking it might be Peter's angel or a spirit.

Peter continued to knock, and when they finally opened the door and saw him, they were astonished. Peter shared his incredible escape story, and then he departed to another place.
