And to make all men see, what is the fellowship of the mysterie, which from the beginning of the world, hath bene hid in God, who created all things by Iesus Christ: Ephesians 3:9 (KJV)

The book of Ephesians is one of the Pauline epistles, written by the apostle Paul to the church in Ephesus. In this specific verse, Paul is explaining his role as a minister and the purpose of his ministry.

The Fellowship of the Mystery: Paul emphasizes that his mission is to make all people see “the fellowship of the mystery.” This phrase refers to the divine plan of salvation through Jesus Christ, which was not fully understood in previous generations. The mystery of God’s plan for redemption, hidden from ages past, is now being revealed to all believers.

Hidden in God: Paul highlights that this mystery has been hidden in God from the beginning of the world. It was not apparent or understood by humanity until it was revealed through Jesus Christ. This mystery includes the inclusion of the Gentiles in God’s plan of salvation, as well as the formation of the Church, which consists of both Jews and Gentiles.

The Creator: Paul emphasizes that God, who created all things, is the source of this mystery. It is through Jesus Christ, the Son of God, that all things were created. Jesus Christ is not only the agent of creation but also the means by which God’s redemptive plan is accomplished.

Application: Ephesians 3:9 highlights the privilege and responsibility of believers to share the good news of God’s redemptive plan. It reminds us that God’s plan of salvation is inclusive, reaching out to all people regardless of their background or ethnicity. As believers, we are called to be ambassadors of this message, making it known to the world around us.

The Unveiling of God’s Plan: Throughout the Bible, we see how God progressively reveals His plan of salvation. From the promise of a Messiah in the Old Testament to the fulfillment of that promise through Jesus Christ in the New Testament, God’s plan unfolds over time. Ephesians 3:9 highlights the significance of this unveiling, emphasizing that the mystery of God’s plan is now being made known to all.

In conclusion, Ephesians 3:9 reminds us of the incredible privilege we have as believers to share the fellowship of the mystery—the good news of God’s plan of salvation through Jesus Christ—with others. It underscores the inclusive nature of this plan and emphasizes that it was hidden in God but is now being revealed to all people.
